Wooden cockpit with modern seasock

This sea sock is made in the latest fashion :) It's the "good old" sock that's been around for years. Now with a very elegant and easy to use fastening to the cockpit.

Which is why we sell them together. A little about the sock:

100% pure cotton canvas, well impregnated to resist dirt and moisture. The great quality of the canvas is that it absorbs moisture and get even more watertight as it gets wet. It remains the same shape, as it is fairly stiff, and won't collapse around your feet. No additional fitting to your kayak is necessary. Only make sure to have a light foam mattress inside the sock. That will make entry and exit easier, as well as insulation and padding, are obtained.

Sea sock sizes are:

Small: for persons up to 165 cm. tall

Medium: for persons from 166-185 cm. tall

Large: for persons taller than 185 cm.

The fastening has been around since 2010 and we haven't found any weaknesses yet. It consists of heavy-duty webbing, folded and sewn to the edge of the sea sock. it is simply stuffed into the slot we router in the top of the cockpit and stays there.

The cockpit is made out of selected quality ash. The ring itself is 12x40 mm. and there is an edge measuring approximately 10x10 mm glued to the top. We use a router to mill a slot in the top of the cockpit for fastening the sea sock.

These are the 4 standard measures we've made available in the webshop:

 Small: inside 49x39 cm. outside 54x44 cm.

Medium: inside 53x40 cm. outside 58x45 cm.

Medium/large: inside 58x42 cm. outside 63x47 cm.

Large: inside 65x44 cm. outside 70x49 cm.

The materials are planed smooth, but you can give it a light sanding after you have drilled the holes for the sewing.
