Due to their exceptional solderability, brass square bars are particularly suitable for representing metal constructions in architectural model construction, in the model railway world, or dioramas. Although brass is weather-resistant, it forms a grayish-green layer on the surface, which you should remove (sand, polish) before soldering. If you want your brass to shine as golden as possible and stay that way, you'll need to paint the surface clear after polishing.
You can shorten brass rods with a circular saw or hand saw, or more specifically, a metal hacksaw. For gluing, you can use epoxy or cyanoacrylate glue (superglue), UHU Hart, or Ruderer L530.
